Lawang Sewu Semarang - Candi Gedong

We went to Semarang (Lawang Sewu) at 7pm and arrived at11pm. We have a thrill trip. Lawang Sewu is an old building made since colonialism of Dutch as an office of tram. In Japan era..as a place of slaughter. You can imagine how we walk in the dark with a man as our guide and only him brought a flashlight. Five of us had different ways to show our fears. Even my boyfriend chose to be with the guide than hold my hand! Suddenly one of my friends held my hand and went to the front of the guide so that we safe from being the last person in that place. I wanna go there again! :)

After that we went to Mcd and went to Gua Maria Ambarawa to.....sleep.hehe, well I also prayed. After that went to Candi Gedong. There are 9 Temples and we have to go uphill. Very tired but a lot of fun :)

I think I experienced crisis of confident easily now. It's easy to provoke my bad mood. What a bad feeling! I was frustated and disapointed with myself. Why can I just like people who busy with their skill and sometimes can produce money from it. Why do they can easily get a good job? Why can't I have some skills which very useful? or at least I can use it for me and my people's better life?

Painting might be a mediator to make me become a sensitive person, but it could heal me from bad feelings or situation. I miss my imagination fulfills my head and entertains me. But thanks God to make music let my feelings out, without afraid hurting people or make people bored with my story (although prayer is the most potent drug). By the way, I love:

We, from Translation class, went to Jakarta. We went to PT Gramedia, Blok M, , Trans TV(to watch Mata), Metro TV(to watch Kick Andy), and Dufan. Then we went to Bandung, to UPI (to visit about their English Faculty) and Jl. Riau to shopping.

I sat with my boyfriend from the first day until back to Jogja.

We had a long queue for a ride at Dufan.

A Little Princess by Frances Hodgson Burnett

Frances wrote the best children's book. A Little Princess is a wonderful book to teach people about moral lessons. When I have children, I will persuade them to read this book :)

This book told about Sara Crewe, a rich girl living in Miss Minchin's Seminary, because her father would do some business in India. When her father died without left her money, she became a servant in Miss Minchin's Seminary. Her adventure and imagination that she made made her keep positive thinking and could struggle in her hard life. I read the Indonesian version and looking for the English version (I think I found it at Ak.sa.ra bookstore Jakarta.yess!). The picture above is children's book story version (it has pictures) and I have it.

By the way, now I'm reading Frances Hodgson's Secret Garden, and it's beautiful too.

Bali Safari and Marine Park

Have you ever come to the zoo? Sounds like children, but it's one of the best entertainment for me. You can also enjoy another entertainment like watching Elephant's show, Tiger's show, elephant ride, take a picture with some animals like orang utan and tiger, and they also have a big playground (sometime they have House of Ghost and Jet Coaster too!). I've been to Cisarua's Safari, it's a big zoo. Last holiday I went to Bali safari. Bali Safari isn't too big, but I still love it.

What happened with me at the zoo? I pay the ticket around @Rp. 100.000 I think. I bought 2 for me and my sister. They put a green paper ticket on our wrist. After that we have to wait the minibus (around 5 minutes) which took us to the central of the zoo.

We arrived at lobby Barong. We walked straight and there were some shops, food stalls, a temple, a big elephant statue, etc. I immediately bought a ticket for a photo with a white tiger! :)

But I have to wait around an hour, because the tiger had to take a rest and had a meal. So sad.. So, me and my sister just walked from that animal to that animal happily. We bought a slushy and sat around a pond. Almost an hour we enjoyed the zoo. We went back to Rhantambore (the place of White tiger and take a photo with it) and found that people already queued (all of them are foreigners, only me and my sister are Indonesian).

While I was waiting to see the snake in the aquarium next to me. Suddenly people in front of me closed their nose. What happened? uh-ohh..the tiger had just fart when somone wanted to take a photo with him. Haha! An old woman in front of me said to her daughter holding her baby, " It seems you do not have to touch the tiger, because he is very smelly and dangerous. "

No way ma'am! I just so excited! woohhooo! That was I said in my mind to the old woman in front of me. Then it was my turn.. I told my sister to take the picture. She took it under the stage.Click!

The tiger handler told her to take a picture in front of the tiger. Click! Click! "yeah.. it's done"

I came down from the stage and looked at the picture. Arghh!! The pictures are blurrrr! Very good my Rp. 50.000 is gone... sigh..

Well, This triggered me to be able to come to any other safari (Singapore maybe :) ) But Cisarua is okay, I love Cisarua Safari :) they have a house of ghost. heheh...

After that we got a park tour with a Safari minibus(I don't know how to call the transportation). We entered that green jungle, we saw those animals (crocodile, deer, zebra, lion, leopard, hippopotamus, kind of birds, orang utan, etc), perfect with the effect of feeling tense, etc. You can also eat at Tsavo Restaurant. You can see lions at close range while you eat your dinner maybe. Pretend you were in Africa. Well, we didn't go to the restaurant even we really want it. First, I didn't know the price, I still have so many days in Bali, I couldn't spend all of my money. Second, We had another plan to have a lunch, we didn't want to disappoint our cousin who had set the schedule. Third.. We looked like a lost children (We are small, baby face, Indonesian children go to the zoo alone, what do you think?) After the tour..we walked to the marine park. we saw piranha, shark, etc. And we bought a Safari shirt.

By the way, when we were on the minibus of safari journey..we sat next to a US couple in the rear seat. Their faces are Asian. In the middle of the trip, a young woman which is the guide of the tour asked me and my sister if we are Indonesian or not because she had explained everything in English and she was sorry for that. We looked each other, and ready to answer that it is okay and we will understand everything, but the US-woman-but-Asian-face answer that they (which mean she and her boyfriends )came from US, but the guide thought me and my sister too.. Well, at least I don't have to explain things to the guide :p

Potluck Party 2010 English Letters of Sanata Dharma University

Potluck Party in English Letters of Sanata Dharma University is a welcome party for new students. Potluck Party in 2008 is Village a, and 2009 is Netherland (if I'm not mistaken). In this party we should wear the dresscode which have been determined according to theme.

In 2010, the theme is Cowboy. You can see the dresscode in the pictures above. I was in the division of decoration. My picture wasn't so clear. Me and my group had succeeded in providing an atmosphere era of Cowboy. We made the front of the building of a saloon, an Indian tent, cave climbing, horse made from cork, cactus from cardboard, and the door of a typical cowboy bar.

Usually in a potluck party, we brought our own food to be exchanged with friends.. But the committee has also provided snack of cassava chips and main course.

One day, me and Dad had to go to a car service. Dad's car stayed overnight, because a lot of injuries on Dad's car (half of them are because of me). We tried to use angkot (public transportation), because it's cheaper than taxi of course. After transit, we took another angkot, but then we saw chicken. no. CHICKENS! not in front of the angkot car but inside..
I've seen chicken in angkot, but not as much as this..
Those belongs to a grandma. She wanted to sell her healthy chickens.
The chickens are sleepy I thought, because they didn't make a sound, but.. Suddenly the scream and jump there and there. I closed my nose with my hands, because everytime they're flapping their wings, their smell was everywhere.. Gosh!

Me, my Lando, and my friends went to Kulon Progo, to visit Gua Maria Lawangsih. I were with Lando, Yence with Marsel. The air out there was so cool and clean. We were praying in the cave, statue of Jesus is inside. Scenery along the way is truly awesome. The road to the shrine was very distant and frightening, because a lot of steep climbs, and we rode motorcycles at the time.

This is where we will lunch. Moro Lejar have a big place, so do not worry about not getting a place.

While waiting the food, you can enjoy the view, the sound of water, and enjoy to see the fish.

We ordered grilled carp, tumis kangkung, fresh vegetable(lalap), sayur asem, fried tofu, boiled cassava, plain tea, ice Dawet, and lemon ice. I usually always order the coconut ice there, but now I prefer plain tea. After I finished eating, I was very happy to feed the fish there with our leftovers (my mom see me like i'm 7 years old). The funny thing is.. I feed them the fish skin. Fish eat fish ..

I also saw rajungan (crab which lives in the river) and river lobster which is small. I wanted to take it, but my mom forbade me.

And then we went home (my sister, mom, babeh). I am very satisfied and enjoyed this lunch.

Ganjuran is a Temple

This temple located in Ganjuran. On the right of the temple are 9 holly water/spring/blessing water. You can also lit candles, take home the water, and take oil (I don't know if they still have the oil or not). People ussually sit down using a mat that has been provided. The place has shady trees, and the air is cool. When entering the church and the temple area, you will see such a large pavilion with plenty of green-colored engravings. It is the church of the Jesus' Sacred Heart Ganjuran (Gereja Hati Kudus Yesus), very fascinating. I have the picture of the church, but it's not really clear, so I don't put it here. You should see it yourself.

Do you need herbal (jamu)? Our acncestors used herbal for their medicine. They mixed some plants, fruit or flower. House of Raminten makes their herbal like our ancestors did. The menu said : Pilek(Cold/ herbal for cold), encok (backache, for backache), etc. They also have a lot of food there.
I went to Raminten when me and my friends wanted to go to Sekatenan. But, Rain was cool! erghh... We were hungry, so we looked for food (not too expensive, satisfy us, and nice palce to chitchat). They invited me to House of Raminten. I've saw it before they told me, I've never been there. So, they parked their motorcycle. In Raminten, the waiter and the waitress were wearing batik strapless (kemben batik), from a long fabric. They were very friendly.
We took our place on the upper floor, sitting on the floor, and order something.

I ordered virgin milk (susu perawan). Don't be negative thinking.. This place is so artsy. Everything is art here. And then, I ordered Cat Rice (Nasi kucing). it is not rice for cat, but it's a little rice and salty fish plus oseng tempe. nice!

One of my friend ordered chicken porridge. the bowl looks like cocktail glass, but it's a big one. unique!
It tastes delicious!

They also ordered the other kinds of milk. and look at the mug! It shapes BREAST! hahahh!

Biennale Jogja X-2009 will be held during December 10, 2009 – January 10, 2010 spread in some relevance venues. The venue would be The Yogyakarta Arts Centre, Jogja Nasional Museum, Sangkring Art Space, Indonesian Bank of Yogyakarta, and public spaces—alun-alun, wall of cities, etc.

I came with my friend, Danti. It was difficult to park her car because it was a holiday, the end of year holiday, and Malioboro became very busy and crowded.

Nanamia Pizzeria. I went there with my friends. arrived there, we order a pizza, but all of them were ordered by the foreigners beside us. They were so charming (especially the boys.hehe.).

We ordered salad and Minestrone soup (soup contains potato, paprika, and vegetables) and ice tea for our drink. Suddenly the waitress came to us and asked if we wanted to order a tuna pizza or not (only a tuna pizza, i did't know the name of that pizza). OK, we ordered pizza and a Minestrone Soup finally with ice tea for our drink.

Mom, dad, and my sister went to Cibodas for family reunion. Me and Rika, my friend, just stayed at home. We rented some movies, eat in a mall, watch tv, did some boring things, and I drove to a Church on Sunday morning. On Monday, my mom and my sister had come home.
My uncle and my aunt from Holland with their kids, my cousins came to my house.

My sister made a pasta. She didn't use spaghetti but angel hair. She put meatball, frozen vegetables, cheese(cheese was my request), and chili sauce. Hmm.

My mom bought some orange and strawberry in the market. So, I took the camera to take their picture. After taking a picture, I ate them greedily (posing like fruit reclame).

Pagi-pagi ke gereja.

jam 9.30 ke ambarukmo plaza

blanja bulanan dan memenatkan diri *melelahkan diri*. Cape jalannya. Cape ngomongnya "ma, ini masi banyak di rumah!" atau "ga suka, ga usah beli!" atau "jangan boros, itu ga penting!". OK.. Sebenernya ibu rumah tangganya gw apa nyokap ya? gw yang galak.iya lah.gw ama nyokap gila belanja tapi nyokap lbh parah. shopping addict!

Lunch! Mom and dad bought soto betawi at foodcourt.abis itu makan ke Pastello, tapi sama adek gw aja a.k.a Ela.

Friday 24th-yudisium

Bertugas menjadi pamong tamu acara yudisium fakultas Sastra Inggris. Setelah hampir setahun jas almamater tersimpan digudang akhirnya digunakan. hehe.. kegedean pula. Tugasnya jaga berdua-dua.Rinirin dan Deny jaga buku tamu, Diana dan Rigel jaga dekat pintu utama, Rani dan Marcel jaga lorong yang sebenernya jarang dilewatin orang.

sementara mereka sibuk, Rani dan Marcel malah gossip di pojokan. kita gossip, komentarin orang lewat, komentarin bau makanan, dan mengeluh *ga penting*. Selesai tugas gabut itu, kita malah diajak Ms Tata ama Romo Harry foto-foto. Berasa itu kegiatan penting, maka kita langsung mikirin angle yang pas. sayang.. fotonya ada di romo Harry smua.

Tiba-tiba dosen lain memanggil, tanda makan sudah siap! Kita sok malu-malu, dorong-dorongan *tetep aja yg masuk duluan gw*.

Foto-foto saat makan menjadi alasan untuk nambah atau sebaliknya? wah kurang pasti.. hehe.Pokoknya pulang tinggal tidur.
